URBAN REGENERATION, CLIMATE ADAPTATION AND LANDSCAPE DESIGN IN THE MONTRÉAL OF TOMORROW
RIGENERAZIONE URBANA, ADATTAMENTO CLIMATICO E PROGETTO DI PAESAGGIO NELLA MONTRÉAL DI DOMANI
The 2050 Land Use and Mobility Plan
Il 2050 Land Use and Mobility Plan

The Land Use and Mobility Plan 2050 is the document through which the city of Montréal has outlined the urban configuration and mobility networks to be introduced over the next 25 years. The Plan serves as a framework for actions within the limits of municipal jurisdiction that will influence the lifestyles of Montréal's residents and improve their quality of life.
By rethinking its urban development models and integrating sustainable and resource-efficient practices, Montréal aims for a transformation that reduces its carbon footprint and promotes sustainable mobility. This involves intelligent planning of actions where themes and tools of landscape design play a central role in the implementation process and the shaping of the city's new face.
The benefits of the envisioned transformation will take various forms, such as increasing the supply of affordable housing in residential projects, creating "sponge" public spaces, greening public or private spaces, and adding neighborhood businesses. Shared benefits will also result, such as preserving and enhancing heritage and landscapes, or concrete measures like creating parks or public infrastructure.

The Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture is pleased to organize a presentation event for the plan, hosting at our Faculty Alessia Zarzani (PhD in Landscape and Environment from the Doctoral School in Architectural Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome), currently a Visiting Professor at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Architecture and a Senior Urban Planner for the City of Montréal.

The event is open to all until capacity is reached.
On-site registration (15 minutes before the event starts) and the submission of a report will allow students enrolled in the Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture (LM3) to earn1 CFU.
